          Now that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been in the market for quite some time, and have enjoyed a great deal of success, new rumours have started popping up for the company's next smartphone models due in September. Rumours dealing with Apple's upcoming 'large-screen' iPad features have also surfaced online.

Sources close to Apple's future product plans have told Apple Insider that the next iPhone models will house 2GB of RAM, something that Apple introduced in its iPad Air 2 last year. The next iPhone models, expected to be called the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is additionally rumoured to bring Apple SIM compatibility.

It is worth mentioning that the 2GB RAM rumours might be true as Apple bumps up the memory on iPhone models after every few generations. However, the Cupertino based tech firm might hold back the Apple SIM idea, as it removes more carrier control from the SIM. This further might lead to a complex process of negotiating with carrier companies and making hardware changes. The design profile of the rumoured handset is likely to stay the same.

As for the much-rumoured large iPad model, which is expected to be called the iPad Pro or iPad Air Plus, might now arrive with USB 3.0 ports and mouse input support. As per Wall Street Journal's latest report (via 9to5Mac, the tablet will also allow the connection of keyboards and other peripherals via USB 3.0 ports.

9to5Mac says the support for external peripherals on iPad might require Apple to rework its touch-based iOS UI. However, the WSJ report states that since the firm has not finalised the design of its 12.9-inch iPad, there are chances it might not include USB 3.0 support at all. The firm has been previously rumoured to offer a stylus alongside the tablet.

A Bloomberg report has added that Apple will delay the start of production on its large-screen iPad model until around September because of issues dealing with the display panel supply. The most recent report claimed the tablet featured a 12.9-inch display, was just 7mm-thick and weighed less than 700 grams. The larger size tablet was also to fit a larger battery, rumoured to be 11000mAh and roughly 1.5 times bigger than the iPad Air 2 battery.
